Sowing & Growing: Fundamentals of Horticulture

Want to learn more about gardening in the Upstate? Would you like a more attractive lawn or maybe new vegetable garden? Then we have a course for you! The Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service in Greenville County is offering a series of beginner horticulture classes starting in March. The title of the series is Sowing & Growing: Fundamentals of Horticulture.

This six-week series begins March 6 and meets each Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. until April 10, 2012. All sessions will be held at the Greenville County Square office building unless otherwise noted.

Classes will include soil improvement and fertilization, insect and disease management, home lawn maintenance, vegetable gardening, tree and shrub care, and annual and perennial care. The course will be taught by Clemson Extension Agents and Master Gardeners. Participants will be provided with up-to-date research information useful in solving problems related to the home landscape.
